Preschool
Our preschool is a very special place!
Since 1952, we have provided children with a nurturing, child-centered school environment. We are a community of parents, teachers, and children dedicated to creating a model early childhood school using developmentally appropriate practice. Children sense the spirit of caring that exists in our classrooms and the loving commitment that our teachers have toward each individual child.
During the preschool years, a strong bond among families and faculty of our school develops, and that bond persists even after a child leaves our school. Parental involvement is evident in all aspects of the preschool program. Parents take turns acting as the helping parent in their children's classrooms; each parent serves on one or more committee(s) within the school; parents help with the physical maintenance of the school; and parents are involved with school planning and governance.
Our preschool has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1988. It was the first institution in Wake County to receive this distinction.
Children of all cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and national backgrounds are welcome to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally available to students at The Raleigh School. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national and ethnic origin, or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions, financial assistance programs, or other school administered programs.
