Ways to Give

Opportunities for Giving

Annual Fund

Our Annual Fund is the single largest fundraiser conducted each year with the help of parent volunteers and the Development Office. This campaign raises unrestricted funds that help support the operating budget. Monies raised are used to meet the cost of running The Raleigh School. Specifically, donations help to fund competitive teacher salaries and benefits, professional development, need-based financial aid, computer equipment, play equipment, classroom supplies, arts programs and much more.

Each child is known and valued as an important individual within the community.

Campaign To Soar

Our current capital campaign continues to raise funds for the new Athletics & Arts Center. This center is designed to enhance our current curriculum. With this facility, the school has indoor physical education space, classrooms for art, and our music and foreign language program. The stage provides a venue for arts performances and an area for our community gatherings.

Library Fund

Also conducted yearly and targeted to reach out to our Raleigh School grandparents, this fund helps to improve our library collection by purchasing new fiction, non-fiction and reference materials.

Carnival and Other Special Events

Through the work of dedicated parents, the school hosts an annual Carnival each spring to raise funds and help build community. Another event may be added in the future to help raise additional funds for specific purposes.

Giving Options

There are many vehicles to use when making a gift to The Raleigh School:

Cash

Any cash gifts to The Raleigh School are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Cash gifts can be made as a one-time donation or may be paid in installments toward a pledge.

Gifts of Securities

Another option is to make a gift of securities. If the security has appreciated in value, you may avoid paying taxes on the gains by gifting the stock directly to the school. We recommend that donors consult their financial advisor before making financial decisions.

Matching Gifts

You may be able to double or even triple your gift to the school. Many employers will match gifts made by their current employees or retirees to non-profit organizations like The Raleigh School. Your company’s human resource department will be able to provide more information regarding these types of gifts and can provide the form you need to easily increase your participation level at The Raleigh School.

Gifts In-Kind

Some donors take the opportunity to give to the school by providing tangible items such as computers, office or athletic equipment, books or other items related to our educational program. Many families have utilized a program through IBM that helps to provide our school with much needed computer equipment at remarkable prices. The Development Office can help you determine the acceptability of gifts.

Planned Gifts

You can remember The Raleigh School by leaving a gift in your will or estate plan. Making a planned gift may allow you to give more than you ever thought possible and, at the same time, you may experience tax advantages or income for a number of years or life.

Multi-Year Pledges or Major Gifts

For larger gifts to the school, pledges can be paid over several years. Many of our donors used this option when making a capital gift to our Campaign To Soar.
