After School Care

The Raleigh School offers an on-site after school program for students in school-day-fours through fifth grade.

Enrolled students may stay at school from the regular dismissal time until 6:00 pm. Options include one through five days per week.

After school at The Raleigh School is an extension of the school day. Children are able to enjoy various activities and experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. The goal is to provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities including arts and crafts, structured and unstructured play, sports, and study time in a creative and nurturing environment. Children are assigned to one of three groups by age. There is a 1:12 ratio of adults to students.

The program operates from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 pm on all school days and on some teacher workdays. If school is cancelled or dismissed early due to inclement weather or other unusual circumstances, the after school program is cancelled for that day.

2:40 – 3:00	Students arrive and go to their assigned room in the Athletics and Arts Center
3:00 – 3:15	Snack provided
3:15 – 4:00	Homework, reading, games
4:00 – 5:30	Play, art, drama, sports, science, centers, and other enrichment activities
5:30 – 6:00	Clean up and play
6:00	Last child is promptly picked up.
